American Music Awards 2015

Jennifer Lopez changed her outfit ten times, a backing dancer flashed her bum and there was that awkward exchange between Gigi Hadid and Harry Styles. As always though, I was looking at the red carpet hair. I love trawling through the news the next day to check out who did their hair and how. From some high buns, to a did she or didn't she 'cut' from Gigi (she didn't - boo) let's have a look at some party hair inspiration from the celebs attending.
Check out those buns! Christina Milan went sleek and high, giving a simple black dress drama. Jennifer Lopez relaxed things a little with her bun, I loved the little stray hairs bringing a more textured feel to the look. Perfect against that dress. For me, Kendall Jenner won the battle of the buns, her faux fringe created with the hair tucked and twisted had such a catwalk feel, but was still really wearable. Ideal way to change your look for the evening.

Sleek partings had a definite red carpet moment, with Selena Gomez and Tove Lo wearing their hair with a sharp middle parting. Julianne Hough's zig zag creation is definitely one for Christmas part inspiration. Using Unite products, long time stylist to Julianne, Riawna Capri broke up a simple parting and showed that even wearing hair sleek can still have lots of interest. Also, great for covering up roots!

Whilst Gigi's may have been a faux bob (thanks to a partial wig and some clever styling from Bryce Scarlett) Ellie Goulding, and Demi Lovato definitely showed on some short hair success. I really do love a 1920's inspired do, and Demi's gorgeous waves looked beautiful thanks to her dark hair - excellent dark berry lip also!

  1. I have literally never seen a picture of Gigi Hadid where she doesn't look flawless, life is just not fair!
