They can't wait to share their new do on social media, whether it's a selfie on Instagram, or a cryptic tweet with a snap of some hair. Myleene Klass and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini have been the most recent to show off new shorter styles, but most of the time, if you follow celebs and their stylists on Instagram you'll be getting the first look at the new do.
The bandwagon is pretty packed for those who've gone short over the last year, tumbling waves have been replaced by shorter, edgier looks. I know I always show pictures from Instagram to whoever is doing my hair.
Sometimes they don't like it. We've all been there, that sinking feeling whilst sat in the salon. With an army of top stylists at the touch of a screen they luckily can alter a mistaken snipping. Caroline Flack and Beyonce have gone from long to short, back to long in an afternoon. Most of the time for us, a dodgy do means it's hats and a variety of clever tricks whilst we wait for it to grow out.
