I wondered slightly blurry eyes into the Shoreditch Jones and Payne salon ready for a hair freshen up. I haven't coloured my hair in two years and the style is just a bit 'meh'. As you all know I've been growing my hair, and it's finally getting to the stage where I love the length so I was hoping Jones and Payne could help style me up.
First up the salon is beautiful. I love the combination of old meets new, with exposed brick and antique style furniture mixed with clean fresh modern pieces. The salon is split over two floors with nicely spaced stations and reception on the first floor, then downstairs you have a few more stations and the basins. Complete with massaging chairs. Lush.
My stylist Alex, gave a great consult and helped me decide on a fringe (that looked grown out) along with lightening up my ends and leaving my hair as natural looking as possible. Whilst I'd love mermaid blues I think I'd end up sulking and struggling to maintain. He took sections of hair mid length and ends, and bleached, which was then toned to remove any brassy elements. The cut was a trim to the ends, and of course the fringe. And I love it. Easy to style, and I can still wear up, or with glasses. If you are in need of a style up, or just a wash and blowdry I'd definitely recommend Jones and Payne (why not pop over to the St Martins Lane salon if that's closer) *I received the salon services complimentary, this is no way affected my opinion - and I tipped Alex I was that pleasd!
