NYFW: Katie Gallagher Autumn/Winter 2014

I love the simplicity of this style that Nick Irwin created for the Katie Gallagher catwalk show. Described as 'juxtaposed sleek transition into natural texture' it's a simple look that can be adapted to suit all lengths and textures.

You can create the look by following these easy steps;
1. Prep hair with mist of water and comb through with flat brush. Part hair in the center from the hairline to the nape
2. Cross-section hair at the nape and clip away remaining hair. Spray CATWALK by TIGI Curlesque
Strong Hold Mousse at the root, an inch into the hair. Blow dry in a downward motion, guiding the hair flat to the head with a fine toothed comb
3. Continue this moving upwards in sections to the top of the crown, while creating a more molded look to the natural shape of the head
4. Maintaining the center part, repeat this at the top section of the head by smoothing hair sections on either side of the part, down past the temple and around behind the ears
5. Next, use a color brush to paint CATWALK by TIGI Session Series Wet-Look Gel from the hairline to the nape, leaving all cascading hair fresh and dry - transitioning from the gel-look into natural textured hair
6. Clean up fly-aways with a fine tooth comb and set with CATWALK by TIGI Session Series Work It Hairspray

I'm working on a editorial shoot soon and will be taking inspiration from this to create something sleek with natural movement on the ends. What do you think of this look?
