Beauty at The House of Rush

Saturday morning I escaped the hustle and bustle of London's Piccadilly into the serenity of The House of Rush salon (awarded Best London Salon at the Hair Awards this year) where awaiting me was a much needed pamper thanks to one of the beauty therapists Nicole.

I went for the Elemis Visible Brilliance Facial* as my skin was in need of a brighten up and to give it a bit of glow. Nicole went through my skin type, and we discussed problems I have with my skin and what I wanted from the facial. I've used Elemis products in the past and loved how they made my skin feel so I knew I was in good beauty hands and settled down for a fantastic facial. I must admit, I love treating my skin to a facial, and really relish the time to wind down, Nicole was professional and thorough and afterwards went through what had been used and recommended products that would benefit my skin. The Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel is now on my shopping list! It really surprised me that once you are in the treatment room, how little noise you can hear from the busy salon, and the streets outside, it's a perfect tranquil bubble that I could have easily snoozed in all day.

The salon space is gorgeous, with a great art deco feel to it. Chandeliers, bright fresh decor with gold gild and amazing retail displays (I always notice the products being sold, and how they are displayed) The House of Rush (THOR) really makes an effort to make sure there is a wide range of products available. All salons are quite sales based now when it comes to their in-house products but with displays like this you don't really need the push to purchase. Dangerous for my already empty purse!
I'd definitely recommend the salon if you wanted to give yourself a pamper. The staff are amazingly friendly, and the whole place has a really nice vibe to it, meaning you feel relaxed and looked after from the moment you walk in the door. I'm hoping to go back to freshen up my hair colour, so this could be the start of a beautiful friendship!
