LFW Hair Favourites

London Fashion Week always promises the best in the business creating stunning hair designs to accompany the clothes that hit the runway.
I noted down some shows that really caught my eye - mainly due to the hair. There were some gorgeous creations from a whole host of top stylists and teams. The hard work and creativity that goes into designing, planning and organising really does show.
First up was my favourite. Malcolm Edwards (for L'Oreal Professional) created stunning up do's for the Issa show. All perfectly finished with fresh orchids. Each model was slightly different, and hair was randomly but beautifully pinned into a what can only be described as 'couture elegance' I love the oriental feel, and it completed the Issa designs perfectly.
Next up is a bit of a hair hero of mine. Adam Reed (for Babyliss Pro) gave us grunge texture for the House of Holland show. This is going to be such a fantastic look for A/W hair. An element of hat hair - created by flattening the hair and pinning random sections, combined with 90's grunge meant a textured finish which still looked styled. Easily recreated (more on this later) and perfect for girls who struggle with a bit of volume in their hair.
Bill Watson (for Toni & Guy) gave the Dans La Vie show an Avatar feel with extra long braids. Using the dutch braid technique (hair is plaited going under rather than over) and given a tight, sleek finish I love the clean style created. Think those with short hair will be cheating and grabbing some hair wefts to recreate the look. The eye make up was incredible also, definitely trying the arty winged look.

Finally, some styling that really caught my eye. Ten out of ten for creativity, Lyndell Mansfield (for Bumble and bumble) created ponytails with structure for the Antipodium show. Using a metal square comb and securing hair around giving a 'box' effect on the hair gave a futuristic look. I love this, and can imagine using playing cards to add some serious interest to the hair. Adds such an interesting element to the hair.
I could talk about the hair I've seen for weeks! Such inspiration as a stylist, and as someone who likes trying out new styles for my own hair. Now where's that pack of playing cards....

  2. Loving the casual look of the Adam Reed girls, I want to try that. Those updo's are incredible, helped by that models's amazing bone structure - what a babe! x
