Glastonbury & the Equinox...

This weekend was spent amongst Goddesses, cider and Autumn weather. I took a trip down to Glastonbury with my friend Kristie and it just so happened we were there to see in the Equinox. The Equinox occurs twice a year, and means there will be roughly the same amount of day and night.
Glastonbury is a very spiritual place, with Stonehenge not far, along with the Chalice Well. We made sure we did all the typical tourist things, with a trip to Glastonbury Tor, the Chalice Well, Glastonbury Abbey and a very old pub called the George & Pilgrim. Thought I'd share some photos of our trip...
We were so lucky with the weather, it was beautifully crisp on Saturday, with the sun shining. It was a tough trek to the top (we took the steep approach rather than the slower route) but the views were amazing - we really are lucky to live in such a beautiful country.
At the bottom of the Tor is the Chalice Well. A holy Well, surrounded by peaceful gardens and orchards it's a quiet place for meditation, reflection and most of all an overwhelming sense of calm. People were snoozing in the orchards, wondering around the lovely gardens and drinking from the Well. We tried the water, which is rich in Iron so only a few sips are recommended! Not that I think you'd want a lot.
Glastonbury Abbey is an ancient monument and legendary burial place of King Arthur. The ruins are surrounded by stunning gardens and we spotted a few wedding parties getting photos taken there. I love looking at old buildings and finding out about the story behind them, to think about how many people have been there, and worshipped there. The last Abbot was hung, drawn and quartered as a traitor at Glastonbury Tor in 1539.
We stayed in a lovely B'n'B called Karuna House, which even has it's own meditation room. Breakfast included, it cost £39 pppn, and was tucked around the back of the high street, and in walking distance to everything we needed and wanted to do.

For our final evening we kept it calm with pizza and red wine. I'd highly recommend GiGi's Pizzeria, fantastic food, friendly service and good value. I could have eaten the pizza everyday for the rest of my life.
On the way back home we decided to stop in Clarks Village for a wonder round. Exciting news - I found some bridesmaids dresses!! Thanks to Monsoon and a ridiculous discount I got two for the smaller bridesmaids for £45. Definitely worth a trip if you are on the look out for something special.
Phew, so that was my weekend. Normal service will resume shortly with a curly tutorial, and a few reviews...
