Recreated: Kate Middleton's Braided Bun

In May, Kate Middleton stepped out wearing her hair up in a braided up do. It looked fantastic, was a great change from the usual glamorous blowdry she sports and it looked classy with a casual twist.
Kristie (lender of her long hair on many an occasion) is off to a wedding today, and asked me to recreate the look for her.
It's such a lovely style, and perfect for a wedding, whether you are a guest or the bride. I can imagine some pearls and diamonds dotted through the hair to highlight the plaits. It helps Kristie has long hair, however if you had shorter hair you could definitely cheat using a hair doughnut for a boost.
I used the following to recreate the look. Seems Denman definitely played a helping hand! I love using their brushes , and the tangle-tamer is fab for a bit of backcombing. The L'Oreal Professional Infinium hairspray is a new one I'm trying out, and Aussie shine serum just to give the hair a gorgeous healthy finish.
Not that many grips, promise!

And here's the finished result...

What do you think of Kristie's Kate inspired hair do?

  4. I'm starting to wish I hadn't had my long hair cut short! This style is lovely, perhaps I can practise it on my daughter.
