Wedding: Save the Date

Well we've set the date. Now it's time for the Save the Date cards. These have become popular in recent years due to people planning their lives seemingly years in advance!
We decided to send ours out now, as invites will sent in January 2013. I wanted something simple telling people that we are getting married on this date so keep it free to be part of our special day. I bought this personalised stamp from The English Stamp Company, simple and I love the old text effect. The card came from Ebay, and the rest is the handiwork of Andy and I. We both love the fact that we have created something personal and they were exactly as we'd imagined, without spending a fortune.
There will no doubt be some more wedding posts as we plan and organise our big day! I love sharing this with you, but understand some readers won't be interested at all. So if you see Wedding in the title of the post, you know what it's about. Be warned! ;)
Did you use Save the Dates for your wedding? Do you think they are a good idea?

  1. We never used them for our wedding - I never understood the point of them I will be honest especially because we got our wedding invites out pretty quick. I love how you've designed them though!

  2. We have used them. Mainly because our wedding is on a Monday and isnt local. Love your design. We did cards for ours, that showed the colour scheme so people know in advance what colour not to wear so they dont look like one of our bridesmaids! lol x

  6. These are fab, they look gorgeous. I'm in no way near to getting married but as a recipient I really appreciate them as I'm one of those annoying people who really plans things in advance.
