Sunday Snip #10

Afternoon gorgeous bunch!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend? Cold & cripsy enough for you? I've had my sister and her boyfriend Paul staying since Wednesday. It's been great, miss not having my sis around more. They've just left so I thought I'd better get on with blogging!

Love you sis

Did you know?
Gross I know but, the wood roach, will happily eat all the hair it can find. They love it because it helps build keratin in their shells. Nice.

Handy Hint!
Next time you curl your hair, pin to your head and let the curl cool completly before raking through with your fingers. It'll help the curl set and give you longer lasting bounce.

How did they do it?
Freelancing and mobile hairdressing, how did it start? Possibly the aristocratic households of the 18th/19th centuries, where ladies' maids and valets were engaged? The best class of maid, was apparently French. Best at dressing hair in most up-to-date Parisian styles.

Hair Product of the week?
My new Denman tangle tamer, purchased at Salon International. Funky colour & great at dealing with those knots and tangles - yeh it's supposed to be for children, but I thought I'd give it a go. It even acts as a good backcombing brush. I'm loving it! You can get yours here.

Celeb hair of the week?
Kate Moss, anything she does whether it be with her hair or clothes is talked about and wanted by millions. Whether we like her or not she is 'trendsetter' and her new fringe freshens her look and hides any signs of aging. I love the shaggy layers and fringe. What do you think? are you a Moss fan?

What has made your weekend? Anything that'd make your Sunday Snip?

  1. I was wondering where you'd gone! Lovely pic of you and your gorgeous sis.
Liking the look of the brush, I'm in dire need of a tangle tamer today.
Katie can get away with anything, I love her not trying too hard style, she's an inspiration. xxx

  2. What a gorgeous pic of you two! You both look lovely.

There's a fab mention in The Convenient Marriage by Georgette Heyer about Georgian hairstyles and the various names for them. I have a vague memory of reading/hearing somewhere that only one name/style has survived. For the life of me I can't remember what it is though! Possibly chignon?

ps - have tagged you on my blog :)
