Sunday Snip #5

Gooooooood Morning lovely people! I've scheduled this post as I'm busy skipping around the West country with my fam. We are off out for a meal to celebrate my sister's boyfriends birthday. Happy Birthday Paul!

Did you know?...
Hair is made up mainly of keratin, that's the same stuff that's responsible for the the elasticity of your fingernails.
Keratin is a type of Protein, and the keratin in our hair, skin and nails is actually dead. Looking after the dead cells protect your hair from damage and breakage.

Handy hint!...
Add a few drops of Lavender essential oil to your shampoo.
This helps promote hair growth and has a whole heap of other benefits...you can read all about them from my previous post here.

How did they do it?
After reading hairspray has increased it's sales dramatically thanks to Cheryl Cole (Saint Cheryl?!)
The first 'hairspray' was brought out around 1943, after some clever people released the power of the aerosol can, used until then for killing insects, for beauty purposes. Helen Curtis first coined the term "hairspray" and the rest is history.

Hair product of the week...
If you don't have one of these in your life, get one.
The backcombing brush/long styler/boar bristle bad boy. Mine cost £4.20, and for the amount of times used, it was well worth it. The boar bristle helps create volume whilst not being too harsh on the hair (when used properly) It also has a handy pointed end to help tease and section hair. It really is my go to brush - I use this a lot with clients hair, and it's really great at being used as a "dress out" brush (meaning when brushing through curls/sets etc)
If you fancy picking one up go here,or try your nearest Boots/Superdrug.

Celeb Hair of the week...
I was scratching my head this week, trying to think of a celeb who's rocked my hair world.
Then I saw this picture. Abbey Clancy you absolute minx you.
Channelling Bridget Bardot with a messed up, sex kitten look. I love this look, it is so effortless. The rest of the photos can be found in LOVE magazine.

Happy Sunday you lovely lot, let me know what your best 'snippet' of the week is...

Abby Clancy looks hot! What was Peter Crouch thinking when he allegedly strayed? Such a gorgeous photo.
I never knew about backcombing brushes. I shall definately invest. xxx

  4. I absolutely love Abbey Clancy - what an amazing photo of her! (minus the fag hanging out of her mouth, obviously) So glad she's being taken seriously nowadays - it made me cross on Britain's Next Top Model when they kept banging on about her being a glamour model. Normal models should be allowed to have a figure too!
