Ladies fair, I bring to you lavender with spikes of blue...

I was recently recommended Lavender oil to promote hair growth.

Not knowing much about the subject, I looked into it, and found lavender can be used to great effect on the hair & scalp.

Ever wanted your hair to grow that bit quicker, or a little bit thicker? Lavender oil could work for you ( I realise I sound slightly like an advert! Hi I'm Troy McClure!)

I added a few drops to my shampoo and conditioner a few months back, and wondered if it'd work for me. I am trying to grow my hair, and through dying it too much when I first went Red, I was also trying to recreate some of the volume I had before. My scalp was pretty visible and my hair was not growing at all.

A few months later, and I really think it has worked for me! My hair feels a lot thicker and it seems to finally have started growing a little quicker than before. I'm going to keep using the lavender oil in my shampoos as I really do feel it's benefits are apparent and it's a natural ingredient which is even better.

So what can it do?
  • Promote hair growth (they often recommend the use of lavender oil to people suffering with alopecia)
  • Can help cure insomnia.
  • It enhances blood circulation - which it turn will help your hair grow
  • Relaxation and tension can be relieved through using lavender and massaging the scalp.
  • Being a powerful antiseptic, it can help get rid of nits, lice and other nasties.
  • Great for use in dandruff and dry scalps.
If you don't fancy putting it in your shampoo, then why not try a weekly mask?
I found this hair treatment online, and think it'd be a great treat for your hair...

Mix 10 drops of lavender oil, 10 drops of rosemary oil, and 4 oz. of jojoba oil together. Store in a dark bottle. That's it! Simple, use as a moisturising booster and to promote hair growth.

Had you heard of lavender being used in this way? or do you use lavender or any other natural ingredients for hair & beauty?

  7. Thats crazy, I have never heard of this before! I was reading some of your older posts and saw that youve used the garnier herbashine colour on your hair. my mum shouts at me when I dye my own hair haha, but I really love that dye! especially the wee conditioner pack you get to put on at the end. Think it would be good for my hair if I bought a mask like that and did it like once a week? Love soft shiny hair! xx
