All that glitters...

Thanks to the lovely Ayden over at Little Blog of Horrors for this award, I love knowing that people enjoy my blog and if you have any suggestions on anything you'd like to see more (or less) of then I'm all ears.

So I thought I'd tell you all a few things that I cherish and love and that are worth more than any glittery diamonds to me...

These two...

Holly (the red one) is the oldest, but still acts like a puppy. Pastimes include, watching the fish in our pond (if you say 'wheres the fishies' she runs to the fish pond), terrorising her little brother, eating out of the bin (especially on a Sunday after a roast dinner!) and rolling in fox poo.

Dozer (the barrel sized Black one) was named Dozer because he's a staffordshire bull terrier (bulldozer!) and he totally lives up to his name. Pastimes include, getting really really excited about eating his dinner every night (three circles and dashing off to his bowl spot), falling over and banging into things a lot, chewing my shoes and the flooring and following his sister and copying exactly what she does.

I am a total pleb when it comes to my dogs. They walk all over me, and I let them get away with being naughty. They are my little babies and I hate it when people are, because of bad press, scared of them. Don't tar all staffs with the same brush.

You can't pick and choose them, but why would you want to.
I love my family, and as I've got older I've learnt that they are so important. When I was younger I had a tendency to be selfish and not always take their feelings into account.
Thinking about our Xmas times, BBQ's and numerous birthday meals out really makes me smile. I don't live that near some family now, but we are still a close unit.

And the material things...

Each item here holds a memory for me. It might just look like a glass clown to anyone else, but it's the glass clown my nan gave me - she is always saying that no one else will want her 'junk' apart from me. I think I've definitely inherited her love of shiny things, and trinkets.

The bag is leather from the same nan, it's even got her address written on the inside flap.

The photo albums and boxes of 'memories' are my most treasured, I have carted this ever growing stash around with me since I left home. Andy knows when we go somewhere special or it's a occasion I'll be taking a reciept, card or souvenir as a 'keeper' He even looks at me now and says "That's a keeper" everytime I open a card from him.

I'm nominating...

  1. A lovely post, Kel!
I adore that tooled leather bag and the clown's so cute and cheeky looking. What a cool Nan.
As for Holly and Dozer, they are gorgeous. Staffies are beautiful tempered dogs, it's such as shame that the chavs have adopted them as their mutt of choice.
Have a great weekend and congrats on the award!
