5 Great Hair Buys...for under a £5!

So you haven't got the budget of a celeb but you want the hair, not too much to ask for is it!

These five bargain buys will help keep your hair looking fabulous and your purse full (well untill you see a pair of 'must have' shoes) and all under £5.

  1. A wide tooth comb. A total hair essential and really important for detangling wet hair. Detangle with a brush, you'll get damaged hair. A decent enough wide tooth comb can be anywhere between 99p and £99 (yes really!)
  2. Heat protection spray. A client told me she didn't need this as she didn't straighten her hair. Wrong. Any heat applied to your hair can cause damage. Whether you blow dry, straighten, tong or wave get yourself a bottle of protection. Boots do a great one and for £2.99 it's an absolute bargain!
  3. Aussie 3 minute miracle sachet. How many things can you get for under £1 these days! This little sachet will give your hair it's life back. I love all the Aussie range and think this is great value for pampering your hair.
  4. Elnett Hairspray Diamond Hold. I love this hairspray, great hold, not as sticky as other brands and brushes out easily. I use this when I'm hairdressing and for the price I haven't found better.
  5. Silver Peacock Accessory. A pretty clip or slide can make you feel amazing even on a bad hair day. :)
Have you guys got any hair bargains to share?

  1. Eeep, I never use heat protector on my hair as I find it makes it so greasy. So naughty of me!

  2. Great tips there, Kel - I do love a bargain.
My favourite under a fiver buy has to be Lush's Jungle solid conditioning bar. After an application I can actually get a comb through my locks and they look so shiny.

  4. Jen! That is naughty! Sure there's one that won't make it greasy, I'll make it my mission to find it. :)

Ooh Vix, I'm hopefully heading to Lush next week so I'll try that out, how long does it last?

It does amazing, good enough to eat.

  5. great post kel- some hair stuff is so overpriced and you think because its exspensive then its going to give you locks to rival Chezza Cole's but that aint always the case! So its good to have someone in the know to guide us!

  6. I, like Jen, never use heat protection spray :S My hair is so long and fine I find that most sprays weigh it down and make it greasy :( Will definately be on the look out for a decent one now though!

  7. Add me to the bad girls list, I never use heat protection spray. Great tips Kel, I am a total idiot with hair products and tend to stick to expensive stuff as I think it will be better!

@netty - apparently Chezza spends £40k a year on her extensions!

I might do a bit of research on the sprays available and give you girls some options. I guarantee you'd notice the difference (a good difference!)

  10. The conditioner lasts a good couple of months (mind you., I don't wash my hair every day). While you're there see if you can pick up a sample of "Big" shampoo, I've just discovered it, it's absolutely amzing and extremely weird!!
